Gourmet Spanish cuisine restaurant Cocina de Autor at Grand Velas Riviera Maya has been included in the Best Restaurant Guide for Mexico, developed by the team at Travel + Leisure magazine and the Expansion Group’s Gourmet Pool. The Expansion Group is a multiplatform media firm with an audience of 13 million people per month; its magazines include Expansion, ELLE, Life & Style, InStyle, Quién, Travel + Leisure, websites like CNNmexico.com, Chilango.com and many others.
Travel experts nominated a number of restaurants throughout the Mexican Republic, categorized into 10 routes stretching from Los Cabos to the Riviera Maya. In the latter destination, Cocina de Autor was listed among the top three restaurants, with the description “unforgettable tasting menu by Chef Xavier Pérez Stone“. The restaurant’s concept was created by chefs Mikel Alonso and Bruno Oteiza, owners of restaurant Biko in Mexico City, which was also mentioned in the guide.
Restaurant Frida, with colorful dishes of Mexican haute cuisine, also earned a prestigious mention on this list of culinary recommendations.
