Activity Complements Coloring, Aromatherapy and Other Mindful Meeting Breaks Available At Luxury Mexico Resort

Riviera Nayarit, Mexico (December 27, 2017) – Groups meeting at the AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit now have a new option to help attendees de-stress and recharge their creativity mid-go – Dreamcatcher Workshops. The mindful meditation introduces small groups to the 2,000- year-old tradition of weaving dreamcatchers. Participants will learn about the meaning and history of dreamcatchers and then how to create their own. The handicraft is traditionally made with willow wood wrapped in colored yarn and decorated with various objects, most commonly feathers. Made to filter dreams, dreamcatchers only allow positive dreams and visions to pass to the sleeper. The nightmares are trapped in the center stone and the next morning, they burn away with the light of day. Known as the ‘Huichol Eye’ which means ‘The Eye of God’, this ancient craft process has been present for centuries amongst the native populations of the Coras and Huicholes in the Mexican Pacific states of Jalisco and Nayarit. This one hour workshop for up to 10 will take place in a breakout room, set in a “spa mode” with relaxing music and aromas. The cost is $25 per person. Other mindful meeting breaks at the resort include mandala-themed coloring, aromatherapy and even a workshop to create one’s own mandala in a bowl of water with flowers.
